Three families homeschooled their children for a year using the classical methodology and curriculum recommended in Wilson's book. They quickly realized that combining their efforts would significantly reduce their individual workloads and improve the effectiveness of their instruction. So, after a long process of prayer, getting the groundwork laid, and many meetings to decide who would teach what, Grace Academy was born in the fall of 2000

Not long after school officially began with three teachers and seven students, word began to get out that there was a classical Christian School in Georgetown.  Applications for the fall of 2001 began to come in from others with a desire for a distinctly Christ-centered, academically   excellent education. The fall semester of 2001 began with twenty-six students. More faculty were recruited, including our first Latin teacher. By our Lord's most amazing grace we had a wonderful first school year, full of excitement, fun, learning, and a lot of hard work, but good work

Our Lord's encouragement to us is not to despise the day of humble beginnings.  Grace Academy is an object lesson in this admonition.  From a small beginning, Grace Academy has grown to around 100 students, twenty faculty, several part-time coaches and staff, a full-time headmaster, and a beautiful 35-acre campus north of Georgetown.

Grace Academy moved to its permanent campus on State Highway 195 during the Christmas break in 2006.  The campus is covered with oak trees and features a large pond in the center of campus.  The long-range facilities master plan includes several academic buildings, a gymnasium, athletic fields, and acres of green space for our students to roam and play, learn and grow.P>

Several noteworthy features have characterized the school over the years. Contrary to much which characterizes secular education in our country, there is a peace in the air at Grace which is obvious.  Our parents are highly involved in the life of the school.  Our parents love to help out in many ways, and continue to contribute to a unique and delightful community within the school. The outstanding classical curriculum, combining high academic standards and godly, effective faculty, is producing very exciting and satisfying results. The distinctly Christian culture reinforces the godly values parents teach in their homes.

Our God has blessed us immeasurably over the years.  We continue to be awed and humbled by His grace bestowed upon us as we continue to grow together as a community of parents and students committed to academically excellent, classical and Christ-centered education.  May all we do continue to be Soli Deo Gloria.
