Tuition Assistance

Grace Academy’s tuition assitance program has been an important part of the school’s financial plans since its beginning. The Board of Trustees desires to provide an excellent, classical Christian education and to make it available to all parents seeking such an education for their children. Through our tuition assistance program we hope to make our education reasonably affordable for families from all economic conditions.

The following questions are provided to give you more information about Tuition Assistance:

How is tuition assistance funded?

A portion of the budget is set aside each year for tuition assistance.

If I receive tuition assistance, will my child’s teacher know?

No. Tuition Assistance awards are determined by a very small committee working with our outside application processor, FACTS. No one outside of the business office staff knows which families receive assistance. During the process, every attempt is made to ensure that the Tuition Assistance Committee does not know which family's application is being discussed.

How do I apply for tuition assistance?

Applicants for admission to Grace Academy, who believe they need tuition assistance, should submit an application for tuition assistance to our third-party processor, FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment. The deadline to complete applications for for both admission and tuition assistance is February 1 of the preceding school year. In order to allow us to consider your application for assistance, supporting tax documents must be received by FACTS by February 6. Applications with supporting documents received after that date will be processed only as tuition assistance funding permits. Please see this page and this checklist for the most complete information about applying for tuition assistance.

If I receive tuition asistance, will my child or I be treated differently?

No. The admission process at Grace Academy is 'need blind' and the awarding process is as anonymous as possible, so every attempt is made to conceal your family's identity from the Committee that determines awards.

Who should apply for tuition assistance?

Families who are applying for admission to Grace Academy and are concerned that they may not be able to afford a Grace Academy education for their children may apply. Many factors are considered by the company that processes the tuition assistance applications. A general rule of thumb is that you should consider applying for tuition assistance if your total tuition obligation exceeds 10% of your gross income. Applying does not guarantee qualifying, but if your family qualifies, the school will do everything within the parameters of the budget and the award process to meet the demonstrated need.
