Mission
To provide a Christ-centered and competitive athletics program which enables our students to develop Christian character and athletic abilities as part of their overall educational experience.
Philosophy
Christ Centered - Our School motto is Soli Deo Gloria-to God alone the glory. Christ is the Lord and head of Grace Academy. As such, we desire all that we do to reflect His character and His lordship over our lives. Above all else, we desire our athletic program to honor God, and to reflect Christ. We desire that all of our goals, decisions, and activities be informed by Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Competitive - We desire to provide quality, competitive athletic programs. We desire participation by a large population of our student body. At the same time, we desire to emphasize the importance of self-discipline, commitment, competition, and athletic excellence. Middle school athletic programs (grades 7-9) will strive to maximize participatory opportunities for all athletes. However, trying out for or making a team does not guarantee equal playing time. In the high school (grades 10-12), there is more awareness of the competitive aspect of playing time--knowing that only a predetermined number of participants may actually represent our school in a given interscholastic competition.
Christian Character - The single most important goal of our athletics program is to mentor and encourage students to develop Christ-like character. We desire to provide godly role models for our students through our staff and coaches. We desire to create an environment in which our athletes learn to love their opponents and fair play above winning, and who strive to honor Christ in all they do.
Athletic Abilities - We desire all student athletes to develop to their full athletic potential. We desire our athletic programs to teach athletic fundamentals, good conditioning, and mental concentration necessary for competitive sports.
Educational Experience - We desire to provide students with opportunities to fulfill physical, emotional and social potential through a variety of activities. God gives many different talents and gifts to all of our students. Through a vareity of experiences, the students are encouraged to use all of these blessings from God. All extracurricular activities sponsored by our school are offered as opportunities for students to enrich their lives. We desire these activities always to be in support of, and subordinate to, the academic mission of the School, rather than an end unto themselves.
